While we do not currently allow third party restriction or parental control applications be installed on district equipment, many major internet service providers (ISP) offer parental control settings on the home modems and routers without the need to install or add any software. Some of these feature might include, blocking websites while at home, limiting screen time, and turning off wifi to name a few. You may find it helpful to reach out to your ISP to determine if this is something that is currently available to you. Often settings in these services can be applied to specific devices only (as not to affect other family devices with specific policies or restrictions) as well. You may also want to consider visiting the following resource created for parents for additional safety tips and other information about student online safety and use https://www.commonsensemedia.org/articles.
SRVUSD believes collaboration with families is essential to ensure students can thrive and be successful.
